Orpheum Awning Panels (TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE)

Orpheum Awning Panel The Orpheum awning panel was the second most popular decorative panel used under shop front awnings on medium sized shops and commercial premises from the 1890's through to the 1930's. It is based around a repeating sequence of horizontal bands and double rows of shallow pyramidal brick shapes based on a 24" x 24" module.

Wunderlite manufactures strips of these modules, (three to a sheet) in both galvanised iron and etch primed aluminum. The individual strips lap over each of their neighbors and are simply fixed by nailing to softwood battons. This design lends itself to larger awnings as the patterns are broken into the bands and bricks along the length of the building and this particular design does not get lost even over a reasonable length.

Like the Cambridge Awning, this very simple design was used on is own with only a timber or folded metal capping acting as a cornice abutment to the shop front and simply butted against the awning surround without further concern for decorative finishes around the edges. Any awning installation may be dressed up by breaking the chosen design into pattern blocks using filler strips and capping of various designs.

You should discuss your particular requirement with us possibly sending a dimensioned plan so that we can make suggestions how the paricular installation may be handled. There are a variety of ways in which the traditional awning fixers addressed the continuation of patterns around cornes where awnings are provided to two sides of a building for example or where different horizons were involved.

Wunderlite Production Panels have been supplying quality pressed metal panels since the 1980's.

Our panels have been used in Modern and Contemporary Settings, Churches, Corporate Offices, Clubs and more.

Please contact us if you have a specific filler application as we do have a further variety of patterns which we have not included in our advertised range but which we are able to produce for specific orders. Again, the imagination of the interior designer is all that limits the application of any of our pressed metal panels being applied to modern decor.
